Milo’s shunt surgery told with pictures.
[In the waiting room. June 30 @ 6:00am!!]
[waking up is hard to do…. about 9:30am]
[closer, but not quite awake yet]
[ICU bed 18. He was up and trying to do more than just sit there, but still out of it. About 3pm]
[Out of bed for the first time. About 5pm. If you look closely at this picture, you’ll see what appears to be blood that goes from the forehead all the way back. What that actually is, is where they pinned his head to the operating table so it wouldn’t flop around during surgery (this detail is all for you Steve, I hope you enjoyed it!!)]
[Milo’s first solid food, Cheerios!! July 1 @ 8:30am]
[His first visitors, his sisters! This was about 11am. He enjoyed their company so much and I think the girls were relieved to see Milo looking so good]
[Jaime was so good. While the other kids played and Scott and I talked, she wheeled Milo around so he wouldn’t just be sitting there.]
[Feeling better already! About 2pm]
[This is the cool car ramp we made in the late afternoon. About 4pm]
[Another visitor. Thanks Gayle for the visit and thanks for the yummy brownie. Milo LOVED it!]
[Lorelie, seriously the best nurse this round! She won Milo’s heart right away and even brought him a couple new toys to brighten his hospital stay]
That was the last picture taken. Milo was in the hospital about another 18 hours. He was so happy to come home. I’m bummed I didn’t take a going home picture. Hope you all enjoyed the photo shoot. I realized I don’t even have a picture of his head and abdomen wound!
Nice. But yes, I did want some wound pictures. (Is that gross of me?) Guess I’d just like to better understand exactly what the surgery entailed.
He is getting so big! I can’t believe how grown up he looks. Give him another hug from his Auntie Maranda and tell him Uncle Jake’s motto is “chicks dig scars.” Love ya.
