Milo was out of surgery by about 9:30 am. That was super quick! He looked great when we saw him. He woke up about 15 minutes later screaming in pain. They had to do an incision in the abdomen and he was screaming that it hurt REALLY bad. They gave him some morphine and waited. Within a few minutes he was calm again. They only gave him half the dose that they could have, so that was good.
After about an hour in the recovery room they moved him to ICU bed 18. He will be in ICU for a few days. I guess all patients that have any surgery involving the head/brain, go to the ICU for the duration of their stay. But they did say that if he feels up to it, tomorrow Milo could go out on the floor and have visitors then. We shall see how he does.
He had more morphine about noon. I left shortly after. No matter how much I want to be at the hospital giving him lots of love and support, I have 5 daughters here at home that need just as much love and support. Milo is really excited to have his dad with him and so we are going to take shifts. I’ll go back and relieve Scott in the morning. It will be an interesting next couple of days.
I will keep you posted as I can. We got some pictures and I will post them once we get home from the hospital. I left the camera there so Scott could get some pictures.
