Alix’s Dance Recital

on May 24, 2009

So, it was only 8 days ago……I guess I need to be more on top of these updates, really!!

Alix’s dance recital was Saturday may 16 @ 7pm. She did a tap dance and a ballet dance. She was so excited for her first recital and yet VERY nervous at the same time. As expected she did MARVELOUS on both of them.

Grandma Ackerman sent her some flowers in the mail that arrived Friday afternoon. She thought that was pretty special and has guarded them with her life ever since.

[Chocolates, YUMMM]

She also got a box of chocolates. Boy did she feel like a queen!

Grandma and Grandpa Thompson got her some flowers that she received at her recital (too bad they weren’t here to give them to her, but she was excited nonetheless). She again was on cloud nine. She put both bunches together and got a beautiful bouquet.

Our neighbors, Roberta, Sophie and Emilie were able to attend too. Alix was very excited about that.

[I made the skirt, well with some help. Thanks Tiesha!!]

As a surprise they had all the dads go up to the stage area for one of the songs. The girls didn’t even know they would be there. It was very cute.

[Partner in dance! Alix’s great friend Rachel.]

Her recital was held in a church. A VERY old church. It was a very different atmosphere than what I had originally expected, but it was done very nicely. There were refreshments after wards and there was a good feel about the whole thing.

Tell Alix congratulations and we are so excited for her. She looks fabulous in her costumes as well. Wish we lived closer so we could be there for these events.
