Chase Adams-Hart is doing an Eagle Project. He is collecting items. Please read his email below. I have a collection box at my house and so if you want to donate any of these items and live near me, I am a drop off place.
Helping those who helped Carmen and many others.
My cousin Carmen Galbraith passed away in February of this year from brain cancer. During Carmen’s battle with brain cancer she underwent lengthy treatment at UCSF Medical center. She and her mom lived at the Family House in San Francisco during the course of her treatment. During their stay, the Family House provided to them a room with all the necessities, and food for Carmen and her mom during their lengthy stay. The Family House provides this service for free to children being treated at UCSF and their families. The Family House operates by donations only. For my eagle project, I am collecting items that are needed by the Family House to support them in their service to families in need.
Below is a list of items the Family House is in constant need of:
· Household Items: Washcloths (white), Hand Towels (white), Bath/Body Towels (white), Twin Sheet Sets -(white), Queen Sheet Sets (solid colors), Pillowcases (white), Umbrellas, Japanese/Privacy Screens.
· Twin Sized Aero Beds: These beds will be used for emergency lodging and to add options for bigger families.
· Food Items: Family House is always in need of non-perishable food items. Some favorites include juice boxes, peanut butter, canned tuna, pasta, spaghetti sauce, Mac n Cheese, soups. Cereals and staples (sugar, salt, flour, pepper, etc.)
· Bed Bags: 3M bed bags/liners that keep out dust mites and are waterproof. Needed in twin and queen sizes.
· Mattress Pads: Needed for twin and queen beds.
· Pillows: Standard size, no feather pillows please.
· Cleaning Supplies: Toilet paper, Paper towels, and Kleenex
· Family Support: Portable TV/VCR or DVD combos, size 10″ – 13″ only, rice cooker, X-Box games, DVD movies, Ipods of all sizes, magazine subscriptions, gas cards, food store cards (Safeway etc.) and phone cards.
· Any cash donations will be used to purchase items listed above.
