CHEAPER BY THE HALF DOZEN

Have you ever…..

So our couch has a bottom to it that does not allow things to fall all the way to the floor. I didn’t really realize this till we did all the moving that we did during our rearranging. As we picked up the couch we could hear things moving around. So Scott decided to take out a few of the staples and remove all of the “treasures”. Here is what we found:

What’s in YOUR couch??

Dance Recital

Friday June 4 and Saturday June 5 were Jaime and Niah’s dance recital. It took a little more planning this year having two in the recital especially since Niah was a little nervous about her first time ever on stage. Read the rest of this entry »

Memorial Weekend Fun #3

What’s Memorial Weekend without a home improvement project?

So, we had already spent the first part of the week cleaning out the new playroom completely. Then we tore out the carpet, painted the walls and Scott was going to lay new flooring. We originally thought this would be the perfect room for my mom since it was close to the bathroom. Well, we got all the way to laying the flooring when we were suppose to go camping, so it was a blessing in disguise that it snowed 8 inches (sorry to all the folks that live in the area!!). Memorial Weekend Fun #2

Since the kids were pretty bummed about missing out on camping we decided to camp in the backyard. It was far from a “normal” camping trip but fun none the less. We made the rule that when the camping trip started we could only come into the house for the bathroom or for the refrigerator. Everything else was outside and that is where we had to stay. Memorial Weekend Fun #1

So we were suppose to go camping over Memorial Day weekend. We were going to go the Y.W.’s camp and help clear trails and clean bathrooms in preparation for their camping week later in June. Too late?

FYI: Running for State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Karen Blake and Henry Williams Jr (homeschooled his children for 12 years) seem to be strong supporters of Home Schooling.

Upcoming California Election

I received an email warning against one of the candidates for superintendent of schools. Everyone is free to vote as they wish but I thought I’d pass this on just in case you didn’t know. I for one think that if I want to homeschool I should have the right to do so. But if I don’t want to homeschool I should have the right to do so. He doesn’t have to like homeschooling, but he also shouldn’t dictate whether or not I should like homeschooling!

Heads up, California voters! The election of June 8th will determine
the new Superintendent of Public Instruction. Candidates include
Leonard Martin who opposes homeschooling and equates it to
segregation.

Busy Month

So the thing that kept us the most busy the latter part of May was the rearranging of our house. Scott and I are classic for thinking about something for months (perhaps years) and then waking up one morning and implementing the idea. Read the rest of this entry »
