Making progress

Milo has had a busy afternoon. Scott got here around 4 to give me a little break. At 4:30pm we had Milo sitting in a chair. At that point I made my exit. While I was gone he WALKED to the bathroom, had ice chips and apple juice (milkshakes have to wait till morning) and got back in bed. I got back just as he was getting put in bed. He looked so good. He had his color back and his personality is back almost too. He is talking so much better.

I think that even if he didn’t have a sore tongue, screws in his mouth and an appliance, he’d still have trouble eating and talking because his mouth is an entirely different shape. He has to get used to his new shape and how to function with it. I’m sure it will only take a day or two but that never occurred to me as something he would struggle with. I still can’t wait to see what his reaction is to his new self. We’ll show him in a few days when he opens his eyes more.

He’s dealing with a little bit of pain from sore muscles. But the more walking and getting out of bed he does that will improve quickly.

We are so grateful for Milo’s progress and his attitude. Every nurse, doctor, guest etc that has worked with Milo has to comment about how mellow he is and how he tolerates things so well. He’s got a special spirit about him and he is constantly being upheld by angles both here on earth and ones we don’t see.

[Our favorite day time nurse, Claudette. She had Milo 6 times out of the 8 days he has been here so far. She is awesome!]

[One of his night nurses, Taasha. She came by just to see how Milo was even though she could not be his nurse today.]

I haven’t been able to check the blog all day and I was happy to hear that Milo is not just awake but “up and at ’em!” Yay, Milo! Great Job! Our prayers worked… now we just have to pray for some really yummy liquid food for you! 🙂

PS. Nina still hasn’t lost her first tooth, but it’s getting VERY wiggly.
